Meal Plan... Please welcome Jordyn Taylor, Registered Dietitian- My name is Jordyn Taylor and I’m so excited to partner with Studio Pilates! I’m a registered dietitian and the owner of a nutrition private practice in Central Alberta, JoRD Nutrition Counselling and Dietitian Services. I am passionate about helping people feel their best, and I believe eating well can help you to do so! I work with clients who want to eat well to support their general health and wellness journey through menopause, ADHD, PCOS, pre-conception and fertility health, pre-natal and post-partum health, oral health, and more
I like to take the guesswork out of eating well and help navigate through all the nutrition noise. I help my clients find practical and realistic strategies that fit into their lives. My favourite question to help someone with is, “What should I make for dinner?” My favourite foods: pasta, banana berry smoothies, and anything Mexican or Greek. My favourite class at Studio Pilates: Pilates Apparatus!
I’ll be partnering with the Studio for the fall challenge, providing a meal plan, and offering individual nutrition counselling to challenge participant (individual counselling only for those submitting for insurance coverage- more explanation on this at the Info Session in Sept!) Movement Goals... At Studio Pilates & Daily Steps!
Part 1) Your challenge includes achieving 8,000-10,000 steps per day, 7 days a week. You can achieve these steps any way you like to move your body! Outdoor walks, dancing in the kitchen, cleaning, fitness classes at SP, yard work, bike rides....Since this Japanese marketing campaign (10,000 steps per day) launched in 1964 ahead of the Tokyo Olympics, science and medicine have proven that the “sweet spot” for reducing the onset and severity of several diseases and illnesses does in fact lie around the 10,000-step mark. This benchmark for intentional movement is researched and proven to reduce heart disease, cancer, stroke, and improve mental health and clarity.
Part 2) The second movement goal for the 6-week challenge is to attend Studio Pilates a minimum of FOUR days per week. You will find a Challenge board in the reception area to track your workouts! It's an accomplished feeling to put that star on the board each day you attend. Your SP visits are also tracked in MindBody, but we like to see that Challenge board!
Wellness Coaching...
Wellness coaching supports you in figuring out what you want, why you want it, and what’s keeping you from having it. Certified Wellness Coach, Char Andrew, will help you to create personal plans for action. Many people just want to pursue a healthier lifestyle but have trouble making plans stick. Through fostering supportive relationships, Char will empower you by focusing on facilitating, rather than prescribing healthier habits, so that you can take personal responsibility for your goals and ultimately achieve significant, lifelong changes.
Lifestyle is the SYTLE of your life. If you showed someone your daily schedule and routine, your values and commitment to health would be clearly displayed. Your style of living is defined in your daily decisions for nourishing your body, moving your body, your thinking patterns and approach to life, your habits, your commitment to sleep hygiene, and the value put on maintaining healthy relationships. During the 6-week HARVEST HEALTH Challenge, you'll have a physical tracking sheet to record daily steps, workouts, water intake, nutrition, sleep quality, and social connections.
Workshops... let's gather together
You'll have two opportunities to gather with other Challengers in person, throughout the 6 weeks. Once at the half way point, 3 weeks in and another at the end of the 6 weeks to celebrate and reflect on your journey. Jordyn Taylor, Registered Dietitian, will facilitate the 3 week check in workshop. She'll answer any questions and provide additional education to support your success. At the wind up workshop, at the end of 6 weeks we will enjoy some good food together!
Consistent Communication & Support...
Every Friday throughout the 6-week Challenge, you'll receive an email from our Dietitian, Jordyn Taylor. She'll send recipes and education on nourishing your body for disease prevention, energy, and a healthy body composition. On Wednesdays, Char Andrew will send you an email with education surrounding the 9 aspects of wellness. Char is a certified Wellness Coach and will provide insight on all the daily choices that will elevate your health.

*new members or current punch pass holders will need to purchase the challenge at $299 to be able to book classes for the 6 weeks
*consider submitting your registration receipt to your wellness spending account if you have one
*there is an opportunity to submit the nutrition portion of the challenge to insurance companies for reimbursement, should you have coverage (look into your insurance plan!). If you'd like to submit, there is a one on one personal counselling session required with Jordyn Taylor, RD. This will alter the price of registration, but you'll be receiving that money back from insurance - please attend the info session to learn more.
